How it works
Trace Commons keeps the record on your own computer instead of sending it to the company behind the AI. Anything you typed is taken out before it leaves, and the part that works out what it is worth never sees your words.

Record
Your agent runs in Ironclaw, on your own computer. Nothing is sent anywhere until you switch sharing on.

Clean
Names, messages and anything else you typed are taken out or swapped for stand-ins, before the record leaves your computer.

Check
A sealed system works out whether your record teaches an AI something it did not already know, and returns a number. Nobody sees what went in.

Reward
If your record helped, you earn credits for it. They stay with you and cannot be handed on.
How you earn
A Trace Credit is a receipt for work that made an AI better. It shows which of your records earned it, and how much that record helped. It shows nothing about who you are.
Earned, not given
Each credit is tied to one particular record of yours. Sending records, on its own, earns you nothing.
Nobody reads your work
You can check exactly which program looked at your record. All we ever get back from it is a number.
Yours to keep
Credits cannot be bought or sold, and nobody can take them off you. They are recorded publicly on NEAR and stay with you.

How to join
The pilot is invite-only. If you have an invite code and a workload token from the pilot operator, the contributor-side setup is documented in pilot-contributor-onboarding.md. Once you have submitted a few traces you can opt in to the public leaderboard from your profile page, or stay unlisted and contribute anyway.
